MetroCart Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Arul IT Solutions collects, uses and protects information when you use the MetroCart mobile application.

When you use MetroCart, we may collect information necessary to create and manage your account, process orders and provide delivery services.

Mobile phone number
Delivery address and pincode
Selected delivery area
Shopping cart information
Order details and order history
Product selections and quantities
Device notification information required to provide application notifications

We use information collected through MetroCart to:

Create and manage user accounts
Provide products available for your selected delivery area
Maintain your shopping cart
Process and manage orders
Deliver orders to the address provided by you

Send important application and order-related notifications

Improve the reliability and operation of MetroCart

3. Payment Information

Where MetroCart offers Cash on Delivery, payment is made when the order is delivered.

MetroCart does not currently require customers to provide payment card details through the application for Cash on Delivery orders.

4. Firebase and Google Services

MetroCart uses Google Firebase services to provide parts of the application's technical infrastructure.

These services may include:

Firebase Authentication for account authentication
Cloud Firestore for application and account-related data
Firebase Cloud Messaging for notifications
Firebase and Google Cloud infrastructure required for application functionality

Google's handling of information is also subject to Google's applicable privacy policies and service terms.

5. Notifications

MetroCart may send notifications relating to orders, deliveries, application activity or other information relevant to the use of the service.

You can manage notification permissions through your device settings where supported.

6. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information.

Information may be shared only where necessary to operate MetroCart, provide delivery and support services, comply with legal obligations, or protect the security and integrity of the service.

7. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information processed through MetroCart.

However, no method of electronic storage or transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

8. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide MetroCart services, maintain order and business records, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes and protect the service.

9. Account and Data Requests

You may contact us if you have questions about your personal information or wish to request correction or deletion of information associated with your MetroCart account, subject to applicable legal and business record-retention requirements.

10. Children's Privacy

MetroCart is intended for users who are legally able to place orders for goods and delivery services.
